MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: A Healthy Clean

If you wake up with puffy, red, dry skin, then you might be using the wrong laundry detergent! Get rid of the irritation by switching detergents, you need to wash your bed linens and towels in a "free and clear" detergent (like All Free Clear). That's cause regular laundry detergents don't remove dust mites, cat dander and other residues that leave your skin less than happy.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER:

Rid Blemishes Naturally
Stop pimples in their tracks FAST. Get rid of your blemishes by dipping a Q-Tip in tea tree oil and dab it on the litte monster. Tea tree oil is an essential oil which contains natural properities that will kick that pimples butt! Sometimes simple is the best.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER:

Rules of Foundation
If you're using too much foundation or spackling it on with your fingers, you're doing it all wrong! Applying the foundation this way will cause your make-up to settle into fine lines, making you look so much older. It's best to use foundation only where you need it; forehead, nose, cheeks. And use a brush, it will apply the make-up so much better than your hand, trust us! Remember: hand oils break down make-up.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Honey, Love Your Skin

Besides the fact that honey is amazing for the skin because it attracts water and deeply nourishes the skin, we've got five more reasons for you to make a natural lotion out of honey:

1. It is safe for very sensitive or irrated skin
2. It eliminates wrinkles and fine lines
3. It brightens dull skin
4. It treats, even prevents pimples and skin discoloration
5. It fights against skin damage and aging with antioxidants

Use this receipe for a great honey lotion - you'll need:
commom balm (Melissa Officinalis), 1 cup water, 1 tbsp honey, 2 tbsp rosewater, 1 tbsp spirits

Pour the common balm with one cup boiling water and let it sit for a half hour. Strain the mixture and add the honey, rosewater and spirits. Mix all the ingredients together well and pour into a bottle. This lotion is especially effective for mature skin as it nourishes the skin and keeps it well moisturized.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Wash It Right

Do you know you could be washing your hair all wrong? Yep, there is one basic hair-washing rule, especially for thin hair: the less shampoo you use, the better. Too much shampoo can dry out your hair. Use only one teaspoon of shampoo and dilute it in a glass of warm water before applying. After rinsing and conditioning, blast your hair with a final jet of cold water; it'll seal your hair follicles for awesome shine!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Cut Sugar, Slow Aging

You've probably never considered that the sugar you add to your morning coffee could be making you look old! Well, Nicholas Perricone, a dermatoliogist and best-selling author of The Wrinkle Cure, says sugar and high-glycemic carbohydrates (the ones the body rapidly converts to calories) destorys your skin. Basically, the sugar causes changes in your skin cells that make your skin get older faster. So no more candy bars, pasta, bread... well at least only in moderation.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Concealing Your Age

Your concealer can be your best friend... if you use it right! When you're trying to hide the dark circles under your eyes, apply the concealer with a very small brush into the inner corner of your eyes, which is usually the darkest park, and THEN blend the concealer in a crescent moon shape under your eyes and set with loose powder. NEVER put concealer all around your eyes, it will only give you the dreaded raccoon look... that will age you by ten years!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Ten Years Younger

Ladies, you could look ten years younger by using one quick trick!
By simply applying your blush correctly, you'll effectively shave the years off your age. As you get older, the hollowness of your cheeks become more pronounced and applying blush along your cheekbone will only emphasize this. So update your make-up application, add a tinge of color only to the apples of your cheeks and opt for a cream blush to look your best at any age!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER:

Make-up of The Stars
Movie stars are known for their expensive taste in make-up, but you won't believe which ones are shopping at the drugstore for their mascara! When is comes to this must have, you don't have to drop a lot of money to get a fabuloue look. The stars aren't... Courtney Cox-Arquette loves L'Oreal's Voluminous Mascara while Catherine Zeta Jones says her favorite mascara is Maybelline two-XL. So now that you know their secret, you too can get famous looking lashes on a budget!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Look Good On the Go

When you're on the go, it can be hard to keep yourself looking great. So when traveling, follow these tips to maintain your great look:
1. Make sure to carry wipes to clean dirt, make-up from your face
2. Drink plenty of water
3. Apply a leave-in conditioner before you begin your journey; the stresses of traveling, especially if you go to a different climate, can dry out hair and cause split ends

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Sleep Beautiful

Are your eyes and face puffy in the morning? Here's an old Hollywood secret get you to waking up looking your best. To prevent a puffy face and eyes, sleep on your back and use a slightly elevated firm pillow to help prevent fluids from pooling in your facial tissues at night. You can try the Dr. Scholl's Memory Foam Contour Pillow which has a "lip" that props up your head. When you sleep better, you look better.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Lasting Make-up

So, if your make up just fades away after a few hours, then follow these tips to keep your make-up lasting all day. 1. Don't put your make-up on with your hands, the oil from your fingertips breaks it down; always use brushes or sponges to apply the make-up. 2. Finish with a thin layer of translucent powder to keep you looking great all day.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Effectively Moisturize

Sometimes even the fanciest moisturizer can still leave your skin feeling dry or ashy. So how can you make your moisturizer work better? Well, start with your towel; don't completely dry off after a shower, instead dab gently with a towel and allow a little water to stay on your skin. This allows the moisturizer to trap some of the water in your skin, providing that extra moisture, keeping your skin soft all day.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Youthful Hands

To prevent your hands from looking a whole heck of a lot older than you really are, you have to show them as much attention as you do your face. Definitely use sunscreen everyday, especially when you're driving and your hands are exposed to the sun's damaging rays. Use a good hand cream everyday to repair damage that's already done. And if necessary, go in for laser treatments to get rid of freckles.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Flawless Foundation

Are mineral powder foundation leaving you with fine lines and a flat, matted look? Well, to make your mineral foundation look creamy and flawless, finish the look by dusting the foundation on like usual and then blending it in with a damp brush, just like that!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Med Safety

Do you put your prescription meds in your medicine cabinet? Well stop! Ironically, the medicine cabinet is the last place you want to leave your meds. The temp in a bathroom can reach up to 100 degrees; don't lie, you know you love those nice, long hot showers. Well, that heat breaks down your meds, making them rancid and useless. So instead, keep them in your nightstand... next to all your other naughties.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Hydrate Dry Hair

Is your hair feeling really dry and fragile? Well, a great remedy is a bydrating hair mask. All you need is two tbsp almond oil, one tbsp fresh lemon, and two tbsp honey. Mix all the ingredients together and apply the mixture generously to your hair. Start at the roots and comb through the your hair. Then wrap your hair with a towel and hang out for an hour and a half. Now use a gentle shampoo to wash your hair. Your strands will be deeply hydrated, healthier and shiny.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Cashmere Upkeep

I hate it when cashmere sweaters get all pilled up. (Pills ae the little fiber balls you get on your sweater that happen due to friction.) You can get rid of the nasty little things with one quick step. Just take an old razor and comb it gently over the sweater. It'll remove the pills in a hot minute plus you'll get double the use of your pricy razors. If your cashmere sweater is of the fluffy variety, you can use a boar bristle brush instead.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Sleep Better

For better ZZZs, you need to replace your pillow every year! If you've had your pillow for two years, 10% of the weight of that pillow is comprised of dead dust mites and their droppings, gross!
So go out and repalce that pillow with one that's hypoallergenic, antimicrobial and made with synthetic down or foam for a better night of sleep.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Get Full Lips

Get full lips without expensive lip plumper and that don't scream "fake." Curl your lips tightly over your teeth, then trace right along the edge with a nude pencil. When you release your lips, you will have slightly overdrawn them in such a natural way that no one will notice. But you're not done! Now you have to color in the rest of your lip with the nude pencil. Then take your fingertip and buff your lips gently to blend the color and finish by applying gloss. Now you have full, beautiful lips... naturally.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Mouth Hygiene

If you leave your toothbrush on the countertop in the bathroom when you flush the toilet, you could be brushing your teeth with dirty bristles. The germs fly up into the air when the water is flushed and they land around the room, including the bristles of that brush you put in your mouth. So keep the toothbrush in the medical cabinet to help keep it cleaner, which will keep your mouth cleaner too.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Help Growth

If you ever wonder why your nail aren't growing, or if they split frequently, we might have an idea... you're filing them wrong. Never use a metal file, it's too rough. Try using an emery board with a high grit or one that's smooth to the touch. Never file in a back and forth motion, it just tears your nails up. File in just one direction, it is less likely to cause your nails to spilt.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Save Your Skin

Need another reason to quit smoking ladies? Well, that cigarette is doing more to your skin than just making it dull and wrinkly... your smoking also gives you those nasty zits that take forever to heel. And smokers have eight times the amount of blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts than non-smokers. So before you light up next time, take a good look in the mirror first.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER:

Firm Jaw Line
If you're finding your jaw line is getting softer and softer, then here's the trick to get it back into shape. Just spend five minutes every morning and night chomping as if you were chewing a really tough piece of meat. This action will strengthen your jaw muscles and create more definition!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Fresh Look

As summer approaches, you'll need to give your make-up a more natural look to keep things fresh in the new light. To do this, switch your foundation for a concealer only. Then use a flat natural bristle brush around the eyes and the nose to cover redness. If your concealer is on the thick side, dip your brush into a little face cream and mix with the concealer. Apply where you need it most, then blend outward. And tadah, your look is fresh and summer sun ready.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Hide Thin Hair

If you have thinning hair and your scalp is starting to show, don't try to give your hair height with teasing or root-lifting products. Just use a texturizing gel and get a cut with long layers, they help your hair naturally build on itself. Or you can also get hair extensions, Monti goes to Mermaid Hair Extenstions.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Scented Strands

Ever been left smelling like your night out without the time for shower? Then use this simple trick to leave you smelling great. Just spray a light shot of fragrance into the bristles of your brush. Run it through your strands from roots to end and your hair will smell amazing throughout the day!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Magnified Eyelashes

To make your lashes look fuller you should hold the wand vertically, not horizontally. Wipe the brush across each lash from side to side like a windshield wiper. And to give your lashes even more drama, curl them AFTER you put on your mascara. The mascara will act like a setting lotion to hold the curl.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Prep Your Hair

No time to do your hair in the morning? No problem, do it before you hit the hay. Take some leave in conditioner and apply a generous amount to dry hair and put it up in high ponytail, make sure the elastic you use is nice and loose so it doesn't leave a ridge. Then in the morning when you take it down, your hair will be shinier and silkier. If you have oily stringy hair, try sprinkling Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder in it at night, you can also use talcum powder. The powder absorbs the oil in your hair making it softer and fluffier.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Keep It Clean

Did you know dirty make-up brushes can clog your pores? That's why it's soooo important to keep them clean. You should clean them twice a week; it only takes a minute and you don't have to waste money on fancy cleaners, just use your shampoo. Gently work the shampoo into the bristles and rinse until the water runs clear, then work the bristles back into shape and lay them flat to dry. Plus you should condition your brushes at least once a month to keep them lasting longer too.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: More Than a Facial

If your skin looks dull and tired, you need a facial that packs a punch... a clarifying facial which removes dead, dry skin on the surface and exposes fresh, new skin. And you can get it at home! Just peel a ripe papaya and puree in a blender. Pat the puree onto your face and allow it to dry for about 20 minutes, then rinse off with cool water. TADAAA, your skin will look flawless!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Sexy Hair

Do you know Sally Hershberger? She gave Meg Ryan her signature shagg hairstyle and charges $800 a head! Well, get her famously cool, undone style yourself. She is offering a shagg spray you just spritz into your hair about seven times, flip your head upside down and blow-dry for about 30 seconds. You should get a piecey, textured look. But if you're left looking like you just woke up from a nightmare, check out this VIDEO for a demo from Sally herself.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: ID Your Skin

Trying to figure out your skin type can be sooo confusing. After you wash your face, your skin feels dry but after a long day your forehead may be oily. So what kind of cleanser do you use? One for oily or dry skin? Well do this to find out:

Wash your face with a cleanser for NORMAL SKIN, rinse well and pat dry with a soft towel. Relax for an hour and then evaluate your skin. How does it feel?

If it's tight or flaky, your have DRY SKIN. If you're oily only across the 'T-zone,' you have COMBINATION SKIN. If you need to blot your entire face with a tissue, you have OILY SKIN.
Plus, if you're face feels itchy, you've got SENSITIVE SKIN!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: No Mess Cleaning

Well things have to get cleaned, but why get down and dirty when doing it? When the microwave gets gross, skip the elbow grease and grab for some water and add lemon juice to it. Then just zap it in the microwave for five minutes and let it cool down. Now all that grimey build up is soft and easy to just wipe away, no cleaning products needed and no need to break a sweat!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Naturally Soft

Combat that extra dry winter skin with an avocado. Take a ripe avocado and remove the pit and skin. Mash the rest up in a bowl and slather it all over your body, let it sit for 20 minutes then rinse off. Your skin will be sooo soft!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Sunless Glow

No time for a self-tenning session? No problem! Get sexy beachy colored legs quick by mixing a few pumps of body bronzer with regular hand lotion and rub into legs.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Lasting Manicures

Isn't it the worst after you just spend the time and money on a manicure to find a chip in your freshly done nails! So to keep your manicure lasting longer by following these tips:

1. Fluorescent shades: sheer pearlescent colors will deflect chips better
2. Wear gloves: protect your nails from shine-dissolving agents when cleaning house or coloring your hair
3. Add the topcoat: you should reapply the topcoat every other day to protect and prolong the manicure
4. Dump old-polish: if shaking the bottle won't fix color separation or it has discoloration, toss it! The polish is spoiled

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Split Nail Fix

You know when all you're nails are long and beautiful and oops, you find one split! Well, instead of tearing off your nail when it breaks, put a tiny dab of super glue over the split and paint a generous layer of your favorite nail polish over it. Go for an opaque option like deep red to help disguise and seal the crack.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Home-made Exfoliator

We all should exfoliate our skin twice a week; but if you're buying the fancy products, it can get expensive. So instead, go to your kitchen and grab a box of baking soda. Mix the soda with water and turn it into paste and rub it onto your skin. It works just as well, if not better than the pricey stuff.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Self-tanner Fiascos

Spring is in the air and you're ready for some sun-kissed skin again. Well, when it comes to self-tanners, fiascos are just around the cornor. The worst are those crazy orange streaks and splotches. But you can remove those oranges splotches with windex! Believe it or not; just spray some windex on a cotton ball and rub it onto your elbows and heals. NOT anywhere with sensitive skin, just where you've got the big orange splotches and you're skin is summer ready!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Brigthen Yellowed T's

So your white tee's aren't looking so white anymore. Well, freshen up your yellowed t-shirts by washing them as usual. Stream in the water like always and add detergent as usual. But as soon as the water fills up in the load, add an aspirin to the wash; it will help remove those yellow pit stains.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Raccoon Eyes

Ever found yourself with raccoon eyes by the end of the day? Well take these steps to prevent smudged mascara.

1. Start with waterproof mascara: If you know you're gonna be out all day, why not prepare yourself for anything.
2. Powder up well before applying: If you're fond of eye cream, make sure your eye is ready for the mascara application to help precent smudging later.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Rid Sticky Stains

We've all done it, found a sticky stain on outfit that is tough to remove. Well don't throw it out, you can remove that stain will just a dull knife and a container of bottled air (the kind to clean your computer keyboard).

Hold the can six inches from the stain and spray for about four seconds, then immediately and gently scrape off the now-frozen residue with the knife. The once sticky stain is easy to remove from any fabric, honest!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Face Refresher

So your skin is looking dull and tired after that nasty winter cold, well you can revive that winter skin without hitting the spa.

Just crack open an egg in a bowl and separate the yoke from the egg white. Then use the egg white to make a face mask. The proteins in the egg white will heal and restore the skin's moisture, so leave it on for five minutes and rinse off.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Shiny Hair

Your hair looking a bit flat and dull, well you can get your shine back with vinegar! It may not smell great but it will work!

  • Add 1 part vinegar to 4 parts carbonated water.
  • Soak into dry hair and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  • Shampoo and condition as usual. And suddenly your hair is shiny and rid of dullness.
  • MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: A Natural Flush

Many women faultier when it comes to picking out the right blush and it ends up looking clownish or caked-on.

To avoid these looks, go to the store and pick out a blush just after exercising! Really, your complexion after exercise will match a blush that looks more natural and take away from the artifical, painted on look. Plus, avoid a heavy handed application cause this will lead to clown effect, especially during the day. You can always add a bit more for going out.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Hot Spring 'Colors'

Spring is almost upon us and the fashions coming out include some hot looks, including no color! That's right, the hottest color this season is white, but you have to be careful with this fashion:

    1. Be cautious with this one as some complexions are not cut out for stark white.

    2. Everyone should be cautious about 'Minnie Mouse' shoes.

    3. And if you are nearing middle age, try using white in your accessories instead of brilliant white jackets or skirts.

Plus the Ladies Room advises wearing white only when the sun is out, otherwise it isn't as brillant and gets washed-out.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Red Lips Be Gone

You had a great night out and you've got the red lips to prove it, now it's time to take it off.

Do not rub or it could smudge and leave you looking like a clown. Instead, take a cotton ball or tissue and dab with makeup remover to take off the dark stains.

    MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Eye Gazing

Want stand out eyes without piling on the makeup? Draw attention to your eyes without all the makeup by heating up your eyelash curler before you use it. This will give your lashes a great curl faster. For a final touch, comb petroleum jelly lightly though the tips of your lashes to get a sexy subtle sparkle.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Baby Soft Skin

Oh there's nothing like a long winter to make your sensitive skin dry and cracked. How do you get your skin baby smooth again? With some diaper rash cream. Slather on a thick layer of diaper rash cream on dry elbows and cracked heals. And watch the transformation. If it works for a baby, why not you?

    MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Zit Solution

Get rid of big fat pimple quick and easy. Take a pea size amount of toothpaste, tab it on the ugly little monster and let it sit for 15 minutes. And use a no-frills opaque white formula, gels won't work. It will dry out the zit, but don't let it sit for more than 15 minutes because it will also dry out the skin if you do.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Shaving Cream Substitute

So you're getting ready for a hot date and you've run out of shaving cream? No worries, you've got the perfect substitute right in your shower. Just grab your heavy duty conditioner and coat your legs. It will soften the hair so it's easier to shave off and leaves your legs amazing silky.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Calm Your Skin

Maybe you had a rough night or just not enough sleep, and now you have a red, puffy face. So to keep everyone from thinking you're hung over, follow these simple tricks:

Steep a bag of green tea for just for a minute or two and let it cool down, don't go burning your face, and dab it gently over your face. The antioxidants in the tea will take down the inflamation making you look like the good girl you should be before your big bad meeting at work.

    MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Freeze Eyeliner

If the tip of your eyeliner pencil crumbles and smears on your lids, store the liner in the freezer for 15 minutes before you use it. The tip will stay firm and go across your skin smoothly.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Conditioning Dry Hair

It's time to deep condition, but it doesn't have to be expensive and you should do it before your shower when your hair is dry. Think of your hair as a towel, it's not going to soak up anything if it's already soaking wet. So comb the conditioner into your dry hair, let it sit for 20-30 minutes, and then shower and shampoo as normal.

    MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Look Younger

Your hair dryer can make you look younger. Really, set the dryer on a cool setting and use it to dry lotion and sunscreen. Allowing skincare products to set will actually make your makeup look smoother and last longer; making you look younger.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Hide Greasy Hair

When your hairline starts looking greasy and you don't have a chance to shower, find a big, fluffy makeup brush and a pot of loose powder. Tap it once to remove the excess and dust it over your roots. Or try an all natural organic hair powder. It mops up oil and blends into your strands, so no one will know you didn't shower.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Suspenders Are Back

Suspenders have gone legit. So while belts have long been big fashion, the suspender is no longer simply a quirky hipster accessory. But follow these tips when wearing suspenders to avoid looking like Marky Mark.

Don't add too much, suspenders make such a loud statement, so the rest of the outfit should be sparse.
Do go easy on other male accessories such as vests or hats, otherwise you chance looking like Oliver Twist or Tom Sawyer.
Don't let the straps hang down, be it one or two unless you want to look like Marky Mark.
Do pair them with high-waisted pants; they also look good with a T-shirt and a tuxedo blazer.
Finally, stay classic with skinny black ones, suspenders always feel cartoonish in colors.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Fat vs. Fat

Did you realize that your diet could be sabotaging your body's ability to burn fat? Really, diets too low in fat decrease coping skills, increasing stress, anxiety and frustration. You can combat this problem by including the right fat in your foods.

Monosaturated fats, omega-3 fats and fish oils all play a role in keeping your body and your mind in top shape.

And the fats found in fish and shellfish, avocados, olives, nuts, seeds and healthy oils like olive, canola and peanut actually help control appetite, improve mood, cognitive funtion, and decrease fat cell size and numbers.

    MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Bra Prefect

Put your fave bra on, the one that makes your boobs the right shape and feels the most comfortable. Then get a flexible measuring tape and start measuring. First measure around the ribcage, just below your breasts. Add 5 to this number to get your band size, if it's an odd number round up. Second measure around the fullest part of your bossom, it is your cup size. Then subtract your band size from your cup size to calculate the right cup size.

    Bra Size Chart
    1" larger than measurement 1-------------------------A
    2" larger than measurement 1-------------------------B
    3" larger than measurement 1-------------------------C
    4" larger than measurement 1-------------------------D

    MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER:

Hands are the most visible part of you and they take a lot of abuse. Don't let your hands give off a bad first impression, give them the same attention you give your face.

Soften hands while washing dishes by adding almond oil to the water. The oil will also seal the moisture into your skin.
Slough off dead skin by brushing a solution of sea salt lemon into your hands with an old toothbrush.
Soak hands in warm milk (5 mins) to strengthen nails and hydrate skin. The lactic acid gently exfoliates dead skin away.
Treat the skin with a one part honey, one part olive oil mixture; after washing and exfolitating, cover hands in mixture and put into small plastic bags, then cotton gloves. The heat helps the treatment penetrate better into the skin.

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Beauty on a Budget

Most salons won't give-away their trade secrets, but one cosmetologist gave us ten tips and secrets so we can all look our best without a lot of time or breaking the bank.

    1. To dry nail polish quick, spritz nails with PAM Oil Spray.
    2. Add olive oil to bath water for softer skin.
    3. Mix witch hazel with a splash of Apple Cider Vinegar and use after cleansing as a toner/astringent.
    4. Cut back on shampoo and toothpaste; use less, buy less.
    5. Store pantyhose in the freezer, they will last longer.
    6. Mix one-part lotion with one-part vaseline, it works better and will stretch the value of costly lotion.
    7. Keep hair pins in place by bending one prong in a "V" about halfway up.
    8. Old lipstick tubes make a great purse-size pill box.
    9. Hydrogen peroxide makes an inexpensive nail blech.
    10. Mix dry oatmeal and water into a paste, use as a face mask and wash off with warm water.

    MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Telltale Fingernails

Ever looked at your hands and wondered how your nails got that way? Well, the condition of your fingernails is a sure sign of what's missing in your diet.

Little White Marks means a lack of protein in your diet.
Pail & Thin: an iron deficiency.
Split & Easily Broken: lack of Vitamin-A and calcium.
    Ridges: lack of Vitamin-B.
Hang Nails: lack of Vitamin-C, folic acid, and protein.

So take note of the signs and alter your diet to improve the state of your nails. Simple as that!

MONTI'S BEAUTY BUSTER: Dump Old Perfume

We all know mascara expires and should be tossed after about three months, but what about your perfume? How long have you held on to those last few ounces of that bottle? It could be time to let go...

Expensive Perfumes should go after eight to ten months.
Less Costly Perfumes should go after three to four months.
If you hold on to that bottle longer, it could start to turn oily and stain, plus the whole quality of the fragrance changes.

    Red-Nose No-No's
When you're sick and achy, the last thing you need is a red hot nose. But you can combat those runny nose blues (or reds rather) with these easy steps:
PREVENTION: When you start blowing your nose non-stop, grab for the tissue with lotion in them: such aloe-vera or vitamin-E.
SOLUTION: If your nose is already flaming red, grad some petroleum jelly and massage it into those raw areas.
