If you are looking for a Monday pick-me-up, here are the top 5 NEWEST songs from last week that you may have missed.

1. Five More Minutes – Jonas Brothers

The Jonas Brothers are back to steal hearts yet again! On Friday, the Jo-Bros dropped their EP XV, originally previewed it at their 2020 Grammy Awards performance. The song laments a person pleading to share more time with a loved one. “Give me five more minutes/Baby, I’m not finished loving you/I don’t wanna end it when we’re only just beginning/Give me five more minutes.” It provides a great contrast to the other song on the EP, X. X is a sexy song, and pairs well with this sweet romance number. The Jonas Brothers consistently release love songs that tug at my heartstrings.

2. Daisies – Katy Perry

Katy Perry bares it all for her new single “Daises”, one of the leading singles from her anticipated new album. This song shows growth in Perry’s maturity as she goes through the new stage of her life: motherhood. “I wrote this song a couple of months ago as a call to remain true to the course you’ve set for yourself, regardless of what others may think,” Perry said in a post on Instagram. The message of this song is easily seen in her music video, which showcases her new baby bump! “Recently, it has taken a new meaning for me, in light of what the whole world is experiencing. Each of us is one in more than seven billion, with our own story of strength and resilience to tell,” she added. It’s insane to think one of our childhood icons is having a baby! She has come a long way since her “I Kissed A Girl” days.

3. Summer Feelings – Lennon Stella ft. Charlie Puth

Canadian singer Lennon Stella collaborated with American singer Charlie Puth with this new track that is part of the Scooby-Doo animated movie soundtrack, SCOOBS. 20-year-old Lennon Stella has released one album and multiple singles over the past 4 years and has already collaborated with many popular musicians, such as Illenium and The Chainsmokers. Her music is best described as indie with some R&B influences. This funky, eclectic song combined with Stella’s and Puth’s KILLER voices make this song a must-have for your summer 2020 playlist!

4. Give It To You – Julia Michaels

Julia Michaels debuted Give It To You on the songwriting competition show Songland. Aspiring professional songwriter contestant, Keegan Bost, was assigned to work with Ryan Teddler, writer and producer who is also one of the judges on Songland, to create a new hit song that was catered for Julia Michaels.“I’m hoping to hear something that feels like me. Raw and emotional, but still kind of quirky and fun.” Michaels said. Give It To You definitely exemplified that and her reaction to first hearing the song was priceless. “I love this. I think I would still probably change them (lyrics), but that’s the best thing that the show lets you have this kind of creativity and you can change things and mix it up and then you guys can take it and give it a whole new life, too, with me. It’s awesome.” Michaels said. Here is the finished product!

5. Watching You Walk Away – Stephen Puth

Yes, this is the little brother of superstar Charlie Puth. Stephen Puth is a new up-and-coming artist that you need to know about! The 26-year-old was attending Gettysburg College studying history until his junior year when his brother recommended that he become a songwriter. After some soul searching, Puth landed an internship at a record label and began writing songs for musicians. He has since released 5 singles, including this song! Definitely give it a listen to hear his chill, poppy-upbeat single! It’s perfect summertime music!
